She lies there, as still as anything, with goose bumps all over her body and puts her hand under the bed to find some sort of weapon.
‘What was that noise?’
The bedroom is dark black and you can hear a pin drop because every where is so quiet. She switches the light on while gripping her baseball bat but there is nothing there. Relief fills her body and then she turns the light off and goes back to sleep, still holding the baseball bat.

‘Shit, what is that ?’
A figure flashes in front of her.
‘MUM HELP’
The door opens and her mum switches the light on. ‘Hey, honey, what’s wrong?’
